SHARK IDENTIFICATION

The Ultimate source for shark Id is NMFS "Cooperative Shark Tagging Program" and there Shark ID brochure. We have provided a copy here to better help the shark fisherman Identify the sharks you catch .With years of expierience you will become better at quickly and accurately identifying the shark you have caught. As you gain expierience you will learn that certain species of sharks are abundant in the winter and they almost disappear in the warmer months.Nothing teaches like expierience.Distinctive features of some sharks are dead give aways such as the lemon shark and it's two dorsal fins that are almost the same size .Learn by looking at the shape of the fins, the snout shape, and coloration will help a shark fisherman with a trained eye to better ID his quarry. Good luck.
