Taking Photos

There have been a few posts lately re. taking Photo's. We used to be pretty good at getting the photos, but recently have been very sub par. I am relatively new to this site 2 - 3 years - most of my posts have been on another site prior to paying my membership here. I will say that this is the only place I inhabit now.

Part of my problem lately is that my crew has been shrinking and a lot of the time I am solo. Jerry H and I caught a 9'6" Lemon in the late spring and didn't think much of it until the other day Will indicated that it was the largest this year. I had no thoughts on it being a yearly record and left the pictures to some dude as we wrestled with the pregnant fish. It was a really cool and strange catch as it was soooo fat. I am going to make a resolution to make sure that we do a better job. This fish I am sure was longer than the quick 9'6" inch measure I took and attest to it. I wish that y'all could have seen her.

Our problem is that it has been some time since we caught a decent shark. We have had dozens and dozens of BT's and smaller Lemons. We just were not plain ready. I think that you have to be. I did make a point of getting a pic at the end of the tail, but there was a guy using one of our lights and it over-focused most of the pics. Peter pics and A BIG TIGER ARE MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS.

GOOD POST.Most of the time if a group is fishing short handed it becomes a mission to get proper pics.Bystanders have ruined many pics by not knowing how to do it correctly --we have to KNOW what we want in order to instruct a bystander that's agreed to help us take our pictures. The KNOWING part is the most important. Its common and upsetting when someone catches the shark of their life and the pics suck and the shark looks small, blurry, twisted, anglers head is cut off etc,etc,etc..Gotta prepare, have a good camera, and practice to overcome these problems. Thanks for the post Chris.
