will you get bit swimming at night?
Sandbar run is at it s full right now. My friend and were fishing yesterday on florida s west coast, and we were discussing how far would you make it before something got a hold of you, either sandbar, bull, lemon... I was ready to bet him that he wouldn t be able to go 200 yards out and come back without getting at least bumped. He kept saying that he would do if it wasn t so cold (water temp is 69-70), and that the sharks wouldn't bother him at all. Then i told him that i d make the another bet at boca grand pass, and he said that there would be no problem with sharks. What do you all think? How far out can you swim before getting bumped or shredded to pieces??? (ps: we were getting hits left and right from sandbars).
forgot to mention that it was at night. All bets would have been at night. I know that during the day it would be fine. I also know that people have swam baits out.
It's a scary subject brother I've always thought the same thing during the Blacktip migration. The tippers get so thick on palm beach that you get triple headers every 5 minutes after dropping your baits, you can basically fall off your kayak and probably on top of a school of blacktips . Just imagine how scary it is knowing there everywere and getting dumped 200 yards from shore ...... Every kick I make I picture a Blacktip biting my foot !!!!! Definitely haven't missed that part of shark fishing !!!
But if probably agree with the bite being red hot on west coast he'd probably get bumped!!!
You want to be the next YouTube millionaire? Or maybe your ballsy buddy ?
Harness yourself to a 200 foot rope and jump in the water with a bait connected targeting a Blacktip , have someone videotape the battle of who can swim harder you or the shark!! You may go for a ride !! Wear a mask and find !!
give me my cut for idea!!
You wouldn't see me doing it. I'm not afraid of the small to medium sharks. Its the odd big one that might think you are a seal of something.
You'll get bit every single time you swim at night! lol jk
Just an average fisherman.
It is sort of like people who drive drunk. They may do it 1,000 times before they finally get pulled over, or it could be the very first time they attempt it. Who knows, maybe there is a rogue tiger or large bull sharks mixed in with the sandbars. A test bite out of curiosity will put blood out there among schools of sharks, and you could find yourself hosting a feeding frenzy. If you put yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time, you could end up in a deadly situation, or get f***ed up.

I agree. Ultimately, its not worth testing the theorie. Not in my world anyway.
