Sanibel in February OR April

Hi guys, I am trying to get back to Florida for another week and I am able to be there either in February or in April. I am wondering which time is better for fishing on the west coast, primarily on Sanibel and also a bit at Big Carlos Pass and Bonita Beach. I don't have access to a kayak down there so I will be doing all of this fishing from the surf (I can usually get it out 40-60 yards). Thanks!

I'd stay away from Ft. Myers Beach. and Big Carlos for a few months. The dredging project has totally screwed up the fishing. There is too much sediment in the water and the bottom has been raped of any vegetation. It will take a few more months to come back.

Sanibel should be fine. Water temp needs to get up, though there may be some big ones kicking around. Tarpon start to run in April. Hammers follow.I'd wait until then. I will be down April 24th til May 4th.
