Rough surf

In my experience I have found that when the surf is rougher I tend to get more runs. Now rough surf causes other problems like trouble deploying baits, catching bait, etc. I was just curious to see if anyone else here had success when the surf was rough.

Every day or night brings new variables, experiences, and knowledge to learn ive sharked nights where i get skunked on good tides and completely calm nights and then go out in rough surf and have landed fish and runs all night..some nights where the complete opposite happens, rough night nothing/ flat nights brings in fish all night learn everything you can about the spots you LIKE to fish.. weeks ago i checked out a new beach that i had only fished once before being a rough night i decided to yak a fair sized bait out and my 14/0 got dumped..! in rough surf stay safe!! :D

rough surf is also a blast to try and navigate and time the waves, then surfing in is so much fun. 8-)

If the fishing is slow and the surf is rough it is quite fun to do some surfing with the yak :D

First time I hooked a massive shark I remember I nearly sank my canoe trying to get the bait out, white caps everywhere as far as I could see. I've also caught big jacks and tarpon from the surf on rough windy days, maybe it helps bring the bait in close.

It lets allows the water to get murky which is a sign of micro nutrients to many bait fish as well as an easy travel route cloaked from predators, it brings all the fish around for the hunt. Fall time mullet run is incredible.

Just an average fisherman.
