I am getting a new reel and wondering what brand of braid to spool it with. I will most likely be using 65 or 80 lb test. Heard many opinions but unsure if there is a major difference.

Jerry Brown is definately a top contestant. Little expensive but well worth it. Spectra braid is phenomenal! 17 fiber braid, another favorite of mine is Tuffline XP 130-200lb

why stay away from power pro?
Power pro is awesome for about 6months if you constantly use it, and after that it wears out pretty quick and will snap. But I had 50lb power pro on my Avet LX for 5months now and I just caught 12 1/2 ft Tiger Shark off it. It's great braid of you don't have too much money. But if you have the cash get the expensive stuff. You usually get what you pay for so it's worth it.
I've never had problems with power pro on my smaller reels. This is power pro between 20 and 30lb test. It last forever on those reels. I haven't used it over 50lb test though so I couldn't comment on that..I think it is a great value for the money as long as you aren't dealing with to much that will cause abrasion on you line like rocks, shells, and shallow sandbars.

There is nothing wrong with power pro..I have 2 reels loaded with the same 80 lb I spooled on them back in 2009 and I fish a lot. The problem a lot of people have with power pro is that they are trying braid for the first time so I believe many of the problems are user error. They get more comfortable and used to fishing with the braid by the time they get to buying the expensive stuff so they assume it is the line's fault.

i use power pro on all my inshore reels and will prolly spool it on my big reels.
ndfan make sure you spool it on tight or it will dig into its self. you may have to do a layer on mono under it to so it wont slip on the spool.
I am also a power pro hater, I gave it multiple tries over the years and had the most random break offs ever time I used it. 
used it in green, red and hi vis from 20-80lb and had problems with it every single time.
Sufix 832 is by far the best braid I have ever used, if it came in hollow and over 80lb it would be on every reel I own.
I do use sufix performance braid in 130lb and caught BFT from 600-1000lbs on it and have a few spinning reels spooled with it in 50lb for a few years and cant say a single bad thing about it.
Any thing over 130lb its Jerry brown hollow.

I use PPro on all my lighter spinning gear. I have 2year old PP on my stradic 4000 on my 9ft Key Largo custom bonefish/trout rod that I use daily Bassfishing and everything else on the weekends, Snook, trout reds, snagging rays etc. about a year ago I lost a guide insert (2nd from the tip) and havent replaced it yet but havent had a problem... YET. I also have 200lb Tuf line on my 12/0, going on 4 years now that its backing (lost a half a spool to a boat) I just keep on replacing the topshot. LOVE THAT STUFF! Under no circumstance can I break it!!!! "Runningman" on rock trying to break it = CLOTHESLINED LOOKING LIKE IDIOT!

Like monoxide said, you need to pack it on tight so it won't dig into itself. But I disagree with any need for mono underneath to keep braid from slipping. Not sure where I read this it was a while ago, maybe the cabbage key site..but when you tie your line to your spool just leave a tag end the length of the spool and lay it lengthwise along the spool and this will act like a cushion and you can spool up and not have to worry about line slippage.
Whatever brand spectra braid you choose I am sure you will be happy with it.
