The 2015 BHC was a very Challenging Year --THANK YOU

We want to thank every single person that participated in the 2015 Big Hammer Challenge. I am aware of the effort required and put forth by all of you. I know what it takes to fish a month long HARDCORE shark tournament because I have been there and done that. I am truly grateful for your efforts and struggles. We hope that you had lots of fun ,met new friends and were able to feel the excitement of catching sharks next to good friends and family. The competition is great, but just spending time on the beach mixed with the excitement of hooking a possible monster shark makes this tournament FUN ,the fact that you have an entire month to find that MONSTER SHARK makes it that much better.The fact that every single person fishing this tournament can choose to fish every single night or take it slow and fish only on the weekends is a big plus for those with a regular work schedule and families to care for. You have the option to either go hard or go slow but you have an entire month to catch a "monster" and therein lies the excitement and Challenge. My wife and I are happy to run this tournament and Blessed to have the time and finances to be capable of doing it and I hope that those that participated can understand all our work behind the scenes and that no one sees but without this tourney could not be possible. I have continued through the years to be a good representative of this sport and the Big Hammer Challenge is my Ultimate Sacrifice for this sport. Will there ever be another BHC ?? At this point I don't know I just know it takes a lot out and away from us and i want to write the best land-based shark fishing book ever written so that may interfere with the BHC. I am grateful for the chance to serve you in this tournament it is my life's work.

Running a month long tournament and having to supervise and judge every single shark every single day is a task that takes a lot from any one individual--I AM THAT PERSON. I want you all to understand that I am not complaining here I am simply stating the facts. If you've ever noticed that these land-based tournaments pop up one year and they are gone the next because it takes al lot to make them happen. This tournament stems from my years in this sport and the background in shark tournaments since the late 1970's. I have tried to do the very best job that I can to make this a good expeirience for everyone involved but you cant make everyone happy,so just rest assured that I have given it my all with only the help of my wife.I can only hope and pray that God gives me the strength and wisdom to know if I should ever put this tournament on again.Only time will tell.It is hard to take withstand so much backlash and still feel like it's fun.My wife and I hope you all enjoyed the competition and the life long memories made.
