Due to unforeseen circumstances The 2014 Big Hammer Challenge has been cancelled because of time constraints,work and a new business venture that demands too much of my time.The shark tournament requires a lot of preparation ,a lot of thought ,and plenty of hard work to make happen every year and this year I am late with everything including important tournament related issues. The stress of having so many logs in the fire has had me feeling ill and if cannot give 100 percent I CANNOT,and WILL NOT GIVE YOU A SUB STANDARD TOURNEY. My responsibilities as a Father,Husband,Family man and Business owner have left little time for fishing or BHC Tournament preparation and for that I apologize to all of you who for the last seven years have enjoyed a quality fishing event .Next year hopefully I will be caught up with all my responsibilities and we will have another awesome BHC.

This is sad news but you gotta do what you gotta do. A start-up classic car business sounds like a huge project.

I couldn't Fathom being the Host of one, let alone two huge Tournaments. Everyday life,bills,responsibilities and obligations
are hard enough!! I'm sad , but i don't blame you Will, even the small tasks you delegated to us were hard enough and left half way done,
so i could only Imagine...
Next year i think with the help of all of us on here, SFSC members and outsiders, we can help launch it bigger and better.
Hopefully this will have anglers a little more intrested in helping out , opposed to showing up for East or West Coast
captains meeting , giving your money and only fishing.
Next year well need more help passing Flyers and posters state wide among other things....
Need we can sit back in the keys and have a Beer with the wives Will!!!

sucks that it got cancelled but i understand why. That is alot of juggle and cuddos to you for trying it all man. like the others who have already posted, bigger and better next year.
No matter how hardcore, anyone in their right mind will understand. Faith and Family come first.

Don't feel bad Will. It was probably one of the harder things that you have had to do, and from what I can see over the past few years, your passion is undeniable. You have had an unbelievably hard loss. I have had hard losses. I have also coached a boys hockey team for 9 years. Each year became harder, less fun, more like a chore. i loved helping the boys, but this year I called it quits. I simply had to. When you feel that you have to do something, it is a chore. I get it.
Team Shark Knights is dissapointed, but we are going to post up our catches over the period April 12 to May 12. I suggest that we post up for the love of shark fishing and as a tribute to the man that has propelled this event. Let show Will some great fish. It will be reward enough to have Will and some of the other great fishermen - women that follow this site or are SFSC members to comment on catches. It will lack the luster of a competition, but there will still be something for us ahabs to aspire to. Lets see if someone can catch a big Hammer. I want a Tiger.!

Hate to see that it was canceled, but I sure can understand. These days people have to work longer and harder to provide for their families, there is a whole lot of stress and civil unrest in this country now. I was surprised there was even a tournament last year but there was, so there is no denying Will's devotion to the sport. Take care Will, there is always next year.
THIS YEAR IM FISHING MY HARDEST TOURNEY OR NO TOURNEY AS THE REST OF YOU SHOULD! WE ARE NOT IN IT FOR THE MONEY, WE ARE NOT IN IT FOR THE PRIZES WE ARE IN IT FOR THAT GOD DAMN 15 FOOTER. I WOULD PAY 1500$$$ TO CATCH ONE OF THOSE FUCKERS SO HEARING THAT I WONT BE AWARDED $$$ FOR CATCHING ONE IS NO BIG DEAL.
