Excellent catches everyone.Diana Coupel of Team Jurassic(Pensacola Fl) :geek: :geek: you are catching some of the biggest bull sharks ever back to back and showing everyone that determination and hard work   pays off .Team Pork Rinds and Team Requiem THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR COMING TO FLORIDA to fish the BHC and thank you for all the beautiful catches your teams made,,,,,,great pics ,great commaraderie and a great way to spend a Florida vacation, you guys deserve an award for outstanding effort ,,,again THANK YOU.We hope to see you again in 2014 :D :D :D

The 2013 Big Hammer Challenge has ended and we had more Teams then ever compete in this one of a kind marathon shark tournament.I WANT THANK ONCE AGAIN ALL THE FISHERMEN THAT TOOK PART IN OUR TOURNAMENT FOR HAVING THE FAITH IN US TO FISH THIS MONTH LONG TOURNAMENT.I HAVE SEARCHED FOR WISDOM TO DO A BETTER JOB DURING THIS YEAR'S BHC AND SOMETIMES I FALL SHORT OF WHAT GOD WOULD WANT ME TO DO BUT I GAVE IT MY ALL as best I can.I conduct this tournament with heart and with Passion for the sport of land based shark fishing and a sound Commitment TO ALL THE ANGLERS IN IT i hope you all sense that. "All the anglers in it" means I don't take sides, I try and be a fair judge to all and to all the little fights that break out during the month of competition. It seems every year I tell myself that I won't put my wife and myself through the anguish of another BHC because it's robs us of so many hours and many other things we enjoy doing and for weeks before and one week after the tournament we are working in one way or another for the benefit of the tournament and it's anglers. Not only do I coordinate the tournament but I also fish it hard to feel the pull of a giant shark so I may remind myself 'why I do it every year'.

This year was specially difficult for us because of the murder of my beloved son Danny who at the prime of his life(23 years old) was savaged from us.The pain and grief of losing a son cannot be described in human words it can only be accepted by the grace that God has bestowed upon me.I understand better having to accept broken dreams , defeat ,pain, and I have a clear understanding of the importance of the word PERSEVERANCE.I understand that we cannot exist without a relationship with God ,,,,good or bad that relationship has to exist or anguish and reality of our short existence becomes almost unbearable,I don't know how I did it but I have been able to function despite the incredible emptiness that I have felt .With the passing of my son I understand better my purpose, I understand how precious life is, and how little time we have to leave A POSITIVE MARK ON THIS WORLD. A fishing tournament may not be much but it's my passion it may be MY MARK' and it's my gift and hopefully enough people will remember me by it when I am gone and remember I gave my all to make it the BEST SHARK FISHING TOURNAMENT IN THE WORLD.

This year my Team was a small one that at times was at odds with each other but somehow we found the way to catch a few sharks and shared some good times while in pursuit of sharks.I lost one huge shark that after 10 minutes of a stalemate cut my line on reef.

My son Willi and I spend time together to go fishing something that now is more important then ever,,,I love you son.

Long night spent on a beach and the beautiful sunrise in the morning gives us HOPE FOR A NEW DAY ,A NEW BEGGINNING.

FISHING NEW SPOTS HAS ALWAYS BEEN PART OF OUR STRATEGY TO FIND THE BEST SHARK FISHING SPOTS THROUGHOUT FLORIDA

Jonathan,Shannon and Willi doing the "UnderWear  SHARK dANCE" ,,,,LOL :o :o

the monster shark taking line and kicking my butt

TEAM HIALEAH HAMMERHEADS WILLIAM FUNDORA JR BLACKTIP 5 FT 6 INCH

I had the chance to fish with my oldest son Willi and he caught a blacktip while with us in Martin County.

TEAM HIALEAH HAMMERHEADS WILLIAM FUNDORA JR BLACKTIP 5 FT 6 INCH

We fished many different spots with a several different Teams but on this campaign it was my son Willi,CJ Bridgett, and Adam Lopez that were my faithful partners on trips to fish faraway beaches and Jetties including Boynton Inlet and Sebastian Inlet.

Sebastian inlet didi not produce for us

well not exactly Adam caught a net

Boynton Inlet is difficult to fish because of the new pump house that must be dealt with when beaching a shark we prepared for that but the shark we hooked spit the hooks

taking the kids fishing is always the MOST FUN OF ALL,,,,,,nice earring Jordan he hold a short blacktip

fished with my nephew Jorgie of Team Blackfins and with Jordan Terzado of Team Hialeah Hammerheads and caught a shorty blacktip .My 6 ft 4 in nephew wanted to wrasle wit the shark,,,,,,no more Jack for you boy!!!

serious men looking for a serious shark to fight Adam,Cj,Adrian and Jorgie fished with me on this night

Team: Palm Beach Pioneers Katelyn Harris Shark: 98 inch Nurse on a 9 0 with 80 lb mono
Team: Palm Beach Pioneers 9 foot Bull Shark Angler: Katelyn Harris Harnell Rod with Penn 4 0 50 lb Ande Mono.

Angler: Jimmy Harris
John just posted the video of the monster I lost check it out!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD_BmZcuKpI&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Hooked up on king kong on the 16 0, only to get cut off by a tipper with over 200 yards of brand new line lost.

I was holding on for dear life the whole fight.

I called JD Hammer and told him I just lost the big dawg and I wasn't taking out anymore baits the tippers were in thick & I was going home sick!

Team: Palm Beach Pioneers
Angler: Katelyn Harris

Shark: 98 inch Nurse
Then Mrs. Lemons 9 0 with 80lb mono bullbuster starts rolling out slow.

She sets hook and the fight was on!

Oh no! it's the nurse curse

Team: Palm Beach Pioneers
Angler: Katelyn Harris
Harnell with Penn 4 0 50lb Ande Mono.
We walked up to the Jetty and casted out the 4 0 and spinner going for a tipper off the jetty...
But she hooked into KING KONG!!! MRS. LEMON WAS GETTING DUMPED FAST!!!
THE SHARK WAS BURNING THE 4 0 and running due south along the beach right behind the sandbar!!!

She fought it on the Jetty untill the 4 0 had about 100 yards of line left.
Then she had to start chasing this shark over 1 mile south down the beach...

She turned the shark after 1 1/2 hrs of running down the beqach loosing and gaining line.
I grabbed the wire leader with Rippinglipsoff and his friend Jake tail roped the BEAST!!!
108 Inch Bull Pregnant Female that was worn out bad from the long fight.
We snapped pictures fast and revived the bull for about 15-20min and she finally swam off strong.
If John and Jake and his friend didn't show up we would have lost this shark.
Thanks for the help Jake with the tail rope, John thanks for helping me drag this bull up on the sand for pictures and helping revive it.

We struggled hard this whole tourny and the hard work finally paid off.
We found a great new spot that has beasts thanks to John aka Rippinglipsoff, thanks so much for showing us the spot!!!

Hammer N The Phenoms Jimmy Dean Fuqua 5 foot Blacktip 35 TOTAL SHARKS CAUGHT IN the 2013 BHC Tourney.

JImmy Dean 5ft Blacktip

Went for a last chance at landing the Tourney Winner. We didn't catch what we hoped for but we landed two Blacktips before Midnight. It was about 11:45PM and we were itching to hear a clicker go off. As JD Hammer walked by heading for the inlet away from his rod for a second, there it is. The Clicker starts going out fast on Hammers 16/0. Yeahhhhh come on is it a Hammer???????? " It's just a Blacktip Partner ". LOL. We had some fun times during the Tourney. Props to my Teammates JD Hammer, Jimmy Dean, Shannon and JD Fagan. Always fun!!!

Here are the two Tippers from last night that puts our total at 35 for the Tourney.

JImmy Dean 5ft Blacktip

JD Hammer 5'7 Blacktip
