Watched a big Hammer swim over and drop down on our ray but he cut us on the reef after a while. Other then that nothing but tips eating everything and one walrus.

Ver nice fish everyone;I gotta say I'm impressed with the the number and size of sharks that have been posted this early in the tournament. The competition is sure enough fierce from early on and it seems like totals and sizes will be beyond what they were last year. That's a huge lemon at 9ft 6 inches Curtis.Nice hammer Mark ,nice lemon Herbert, and a walrus of a nurse for sure Chris.Very nice to see some fresh new faces competing this year such as Viktor from Team Pier Breed with his very impressive 10 ft 6 inch hammerhead .Young Viktor (frentals) whom I have seen develop as a young shark fishing enthusiast on the Deerfield pier board on boatless occasionally posting a shark or two and displaying the passion for shark fishing that holds promise for him in this tough sport.

We've been burning the candle at both ends putting in back to back nights on the beaches and having good results with lots of nice sized lemons but nothing compares to what was accomplished two nights ago on Long Key bridge by Shannon Bustamante (seaweed)of Team Hammer N the Phenoms .Shannon with the help of team mates,Meir Ceiroru and Aaron Bunch and Team Shark Fever's Kiki Ferrer reports a 12 foot 2 inch Hammer caught after a 3 hour battle that has beaten the big shark from a bridge record in the South Florida Shark Club.Shannon's voice was so hoarse from screaming at people on the bridge to "get out of the way"that i could hardly understand him when he called me to tell me about the huge Hammer he had just caught.Shannon was taught everything he knows about shark fishing by legendary Rene de Dios and finnally after many years of trying the shark of his dreams has become reality. There report and pictures later this morning after they get some rest from there marathon bridge hopping trip.

Hey just a note to everyone fishing the Big Hammer-with each shark posted please write the name of the angler who caught the shark in each pic and the total length so we may MORE EASILY keep track of the catches.Keeping things SIMPLE has always worked for us in this tournament and we think it works best.

Also out of respect for everyone fishing this tourney please let's not post sharks caught by anglers or groups of anglers not fishing the tournament.

Hey Zach (Team Rebel) it seems you got a good team out there on the beach so fish the tourney!!!Win or lose I respect everyone's ability to catch sharks and lady luck can be on anyone's side.

Tommorow April 7th is the deadline for teams wanting to register and fish THE BIG HAMMER CHALLENGE SO if you've got what it takes put your money where mouth is or step aside and let the Big Dawgs show you how it's done.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE out there and please remember TO BE SAFE and take care of one another.

Here are a few pics of Shannon Bustamante's (seaweed) 12 ft 2 inch hammerhead shark. He will post his report and pics shortly .These pics were emailed to me by Kiki Ferrer who was there that night and took these with his own camera. These are not of great quality but i'm sure he has many more on his own digital.

Hey Fellow Shark Hunters!
Kiki & Stephanie telling you all about the great show you missed this Friday night at Long Key Bridge in the Keys. It all started with Kiki getting a double header (lemon & bull) and as we were getting them in, Shannon's rod got hit. It took off! Shannon fought long and hard with a minor catch up on a crab trap but was able to get the 12 + ft. Hammerhead to the beach. He fought long and hard but it all paid off, this is a rare occurance of catching a hammerhead that big off the bridge!!! Glad we were able to enjoy the show, Thanks and good work Shannon!
Catch em up
