2014 BIG HAMMER CHALLENGE & 24 HR FLORIDA MONSTER SHARK HUNT

The 2014 BIG HAMMER CHALLENGE SHARK TOURNAMENT has some changes that the anglers participating will welcome.First and foremost is a one day Catch and Release Boat Shark Tournament during the Big Hammer Challenge that will allow anglers fishing from boats and leaving from any port in Florida to compete for big prizes.There will be CASH PRIZES totaling $20,000 in both the 30 day land-based tournament that we all know combined with the 24 HOUR MONSTER SHARK HUNT boat tournament..The Big Hammer Challenge Dates are April 12 to May 12 ,2014 and the 24 HOUR FLORIDA MONSTER SHARK HUNT will take place on April 25-April 26th .

"24 HOUR FLORIDA MONSTER SHARK HUNT"

The FLORIDA 24 HOUR MONSTER SHARK TOURNAMENT will be part of the Big Hammer Challenge Shark Tournament.This tournament is a CATCH AND RELEASE BOAT TOURNAMENT and all sharks must be released unharmed. This shark tournament is during the Big Hammer Challenge But is open for boats ONLY ! Competition will last ONE DAY (24 HRS) . NO BOAT SMALLER THEN 17 FEET WILL PERMITTED in this competition.Teams can have a minimum of Two anglers and a maximum of Four .All minor anglers must be accompanied by an adult --NO EXCEPTIONS.This a ROD and REEL EVENT ALL SHARKS MUST BE CAUGHT BY A SINGLE a ANGLER WITHOUT ASSISTANCE except for leadering and measuring the shark boat side. IGFA rules apply.No ELECTRIC REELS OR LONGLINES ALLOWED.Maximum line allowed is 130 lb test.All catches made in this tournament will be Validated using time and date stamped images taken on digital cameras.Affidavits signed by all participants fishing on each team further confirms that the sharks released in accordance with IGFA and 24 HOUR FLORIDA MONSTER SHARK CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT rules. WINNERS IN ALL CATEGORIES MUST AGREE TO SUBMIT TO A POLYGRAPH TEST .The TOURNAMENT will start Friday April 25,2014 at 6 pm(lines in) and ends(lines out)at 8 pm on Saturday April 26th 2014.Boats MUST leave from any port in the state of Florida and must return to a Florida port.There will be no boundaries BUT all boats must be back in port on Saturday April 26 th and ALL PICTURES OF SHARKS TO BE ENTERED MUST BE POSTED on https://www.southfloridasharkclub.com in the "FLORIDA 24 HOUR MONSTER SHARK CHALLENGE" thread NO LATER then 12 MIDNIGHT Saturday April 26,2014.

*ENTRY FEE IS $500 PER BOAT WITH A MAXIMUM OF 4 ANGLERS FISHING PER BOAT
*ENTRY FEES MUST BE RECEIVED BY OUR STAFF NO LATER THEN TUESDAY APRIL 22,2014
*THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR RAIN CHECKS FOR BAD WEATHER
*ALL CONTESTANTS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN A LIABILITY RELEASE PRIOR TO PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT
*SHARKS MUST BE RELEASED QUICKLY AND UNHARMED
* SHARKS WILL BE TAGGED WITH TAGS SUPPLIED BY OUR STAFF PRIOR TO THE TOURNAMENT
*ANY SHARK BROUGHT TO PORT OR TO A MARINA WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED
*WINNING SHARKS ARE DETERMINED BY OVERALL LENGTH
*SHARKS MUST BE MEASURED FROM TIP OF SNOUT TO TIP OF TAIL USING OUR WIDE FOOT MARKED MEASURING TAPE SUPPLIED BY TOURNAMENT STAFF

The 2012 BIG HAMMER CHALLENGE winner Team Hammer Wranglers Ricco Diamandi fights the beast with an old school Penn Senator 12/0 and gets it done proving gold reels are not REQUIRED FOR THE JOB. THIS was a massive hammerhead ,they are the Team to beat having won the BHC 3 years in a row.They will be hard at it again in 2014 and are looking to defend there Title.Who will have what it takes to beat them ,,,,,,,remour has it the east coast MONSTER and there Team are gunning for them in a Big way.
