First nurse

had planned to hit the gulf but got lost and ended up at the Lake of Mexico.

caught my first nurse shark yesterday evening. got it on the 9/0 with 50lb mono using a kingfish for bait. with all the trash talk about how sluggish these things are, i was not disappointed with the fight.

its was a toad too. didn't get exact measurement but we agreed it was 7.5ft+ (i'm 6'6" and make 6ft sharks look pretty small in pics).

Nice catch! That was my first large shark that I caught about 5 years ago and I couldn't care less what people said about them. I was just pumped to catch something that was over seven feet. I remember it being a really good fight. I never had it roll on the surface like I have heard many describe. I caught it on the exact same set up you have and if I remember correctly I was using a whiting as bait. The water where you are fishing looks great!
