Great White land-based expedition-the place

A benefit of being involved in these land-based shark fishing expeditions is traveling to faraway places with spectacular vistas ,rich fishing history and seeing the seaside towns with a charm all there very own.New England is rich in history and fishing has always been a big part of how these small communities survive.I fell in love with the architecture of the mostly historic 1800's style houses in the town we were in.Most houses had the steep sloped roofs for the winter snow and an old world feel that is unique to many villages up and down the eastern seaboard of the United States.Wood and brick is theme in most of these delicate beauties each with a history as old as the place. Most of these houses started as one r two bedroom cottages with large lots and over the years the owners have slowly added rooms to accomadate growing families or for the purpose of renting to summer tourist. Some of these houses are modernized but many remain the way they were 50,60 or 70 years ago.The particular house we stayed in was built around 1890 and was full of old antique everything from doors ,to drawers,to paintings, lamps, old seamen tools and even an old whaling harpoon. We found a door that went down to a cellar that was full of old things .The barn behind the house was an antique collectors dream come true -American Pickers ready. The old wood floors of the house were sagging as the foundation of the old wood frame house had settled over the many decades.Mr Morgan the owner of the house was renting to a few different families the different sections of the old house and it meant we had to move from the upstairs room to the main house on the second day of our stay.Another benefit that we had was the great seafood that was made available by Scotty the commercial fisherman friend of Mr Morgan who occupied one of the rooms in the old galleon like adobe. For $5.00 a pound we bought New England lobsters and had a feast of the freshest kind with Lobster Bisque and authentic New England clam chowder..Everything went well with the accomadations but once the brews went down the usually calm and collective Scotty was transformed into a teenage-like wild dancing fool - a bit much at his age.Nice guy but AA should be something he should be considering.Mr Morgan the old sea captain was a very helpful laid back type who treated us with respect and trusted us with his house and equipment and for that we are very grateful.Folks around these parts are a different way from what we are used to dealing with in Miami,,,,very nice people ,very unassuming and friendly. Our adventure was a learning expierience and in the future we will be better prepared now that we have made the contacts and learned the spots and what it takes to fish them.
