Even more spotted this year and if they don't control the
seal population it'll only get better for Mr. Whitey to dine
Seems like the seals are easy pickens for em. Did quite a bit
of research about the area the last couple of years and about
the worst they could do is ask ya to leave unless of course ya
did'nt but thats not representin the sport. They have protected
species like we do but thier over all marine laws are'nt near as
tough as ours. This is most defintely an opertunity to make a little
history in this sport not much left to make with all the true giants
gettin scarce. Lots of open beach up that way and a few parks.
They seem to be makin a costal comeback in Southern California.
Can't wait to hit some of these dream beaches when I hang up
& retire.........

Thought I would throw this out there.
The tagging boat and spotter plan you got pictures of Will were the same ones from the first new episode of this years shark week. Got a kick out of that. :D

I have read this post more than any other post on this site by far. Everytime I read it I get goosebumps and it really is the epitome of the sport of land based shark fishing. It illustrates the free man trying to use man-made tools to battle the greatest predator in the sea, man on his turf...land vs Great White Shark on his turf....the big blue ocean. Nothing else matters, laws rules etc will NEVER take the desire and determination out of the best sharkers in the world.

That is the kind of Trip EVERY SharkFisherman dreams about & aspires too WOW!!!
Great pics , History in the making,
Can't believe those RIGS!!
When I was a little kid in the late 50s early 60s I was at Connecticuit's Hammonasset park & the Beaches around there, The man that owned the Cabin we stayed in gave me a copy of MOBY DICK , when he saw me reading it after being out fishing most of the day,
Been thinking about "MonsterFishing " ever since ;
Can't count how many times I've seen JAWS,

That's the kind of trip everybody should try once at least
You are going to make History TIGHT LINES!!!

Out hear in California we have many spotted every year. A tackle shop owner told me the other ay he hooked one by accident when it stole his salmon (Tomales bay) another tackle shop owner tells me stories of how every year about once he is spooled completely when ray fishing (you would think he would catch a clue) also Tomales bay and their are kayak attacks every year from that bay and sighting every year.

So if one of ya wants to come out with you gator glass and a couple of 16/0 loaded up, I can take you to the place

This is incredible. I have looked up so much on LBGW's and im surprised I haven't stumbled across this. You guys were so close, I could only imagine the aura of a massive shark being close.

Before leaving the gulf coast last year a fishing partner and I had developed a very successful way of reaching beaches via skiff and fishing from land. It would seem this method or something similar would aid tremendously.
