Bob and Dolly Dyer were a couple who broke many of Australia's great white shark and tiger shark records back in the 1950's.Many times Alfred Dean would have a pending world record and Bob Dyer would break it the same year .The competion between them was fierce. At one time they held more IGFA world records than any other husband and wife team. For a ten year period during the 1950's this couple was at the top of there game in and around the waters of Cape Moreton South Australia. They were determined to break the world record for a great white shark and many thrilling stories emerged from battles with record monsters. One exciting account describes the capture of Dyer's IGFA world record white shark on 130 lb test line in 1958.He had just beaten Alfred Dean's record by a mere nine and one half pounds with a white that weighed 2342 1/2 pounds. One of the all time greats for sure.
