A Sharker's Poem by Matzy

This is written by a young but hard core shark fisherman with much expierience under his belt.I know what he feels because I too felt the shark fever at a very young age.Thanks Matzy for the poem.

On a dark summer night we lay in wait,
For The One That Got Away to take the bait,
Wishing the reels would start to click,
When suddenly into the water disappears the green light stick,
A monster has wrung the dinner bell,
Our hearts race hoping for a story to tell,
The drags set and the reels put in gear,
And ZZZZZZZZZZ is all our ears can hear,
Smiles all around with no other sound so sweet,
Watching line fly off the reel praying the fish can be beat,
Bottles of water are dumped on the reel,
In a fight that doesn’t even seem real,
The fish finally eases to a slow growl,
But we know it won’t just throw in the towel,
A glimmer of hope comes when the fish starts to turn,
The anticipation builds and our stomachs churn,
Walking back and forth the beast gets dragged toward the beach,
With the light stick back in our hands the fish feels within reach,
And then the fish heads back out to sea,
An epic battle that in every way is all it could ever be,
Line is gained as we lock down the star,
Trying desperately to muscle the trophy over the bar,
As the fish comes into the wash the moon quickly skies,
And lights up the night helping our tired bloodshot eyes,
We get a glimpse of the massive dorsal and tremendous tail,
Our senses heighten knowing we can’t fail,
With the leader in our grasp we guide the giant,
The rope tightened on the tail we hold onto the fish no matter how defiant,
With all our might we pull the tail out of the water,
We admire the fish knowing we caught’er,
The quiet beach fills full of joyful screams,
Because together we caught the fish of our dreams,
