It may not be the big end of the year meeting but a surprising number came out and about from close and far to represent the club and their areas, as well as catch up, chit chat, and BS.

the aliens were abducting unsuspecting shark fishermen that night...

All Miami bred fishermen...

food critic approved

All west palm bred fishermen...

where's waldo?

a raccoon tried to jump in the picture

the secret committee was planning something :?

lakeworth reppin'

still can't find waldo?

Just an average fisherman.

Thanks for the report and pics Mark. Thanks to everyone that made it out to the meeting specially to those from as far away as Lake Worth ;it was great to see friends we had not seen in some time and catch up on shark fishing stories and get the inside scoop on the where the 'Hot Bite' is .There was much heated discussion on the need for ocean conservation and protection of sharks and on the other side of that arguement the need for any FWC enacted law to be based on Solid Scientific evidence and not on the whim of some over zealous marine scientist taking a shot at the SFSC like in past years.Congratulations to Capt Jessie Brayshaw and his brand new fiance -Nice catch Jessie Thanks to billy71 for coming down from Ft Lauderdale to join us 'great to meet you.

This meeting was important because we had the chance to discuss strategy for combating the attacks on land-based shark fishing in Florida which of late are picking up steam. We discussed the best ways of retaining 'Beach Access' throughout the state and 'Rights to fish for Sharks'.It was concluded we would reach out to attorneys/fisherman willing to take up our cause .There are different strategies we will attempt-all for the benefit of land-based FISHERMAN.One thing that was agreed upon was the need to strike up the SHOREBOUND ANGLERS ALLIANCE and formally reach out to all interested groups to join in our battle against over regulation.
Again Thank You to every one that made it out.

Thanks for having me Will. Had a good time and it was great to meet all the guys that were there and being able to talk to them in person and not with a keyboard. Lol!!! But on the serious side I will be joining and looking forward to getting together with the guys and hanging out and doing some sharking, taking some trips also. Thanks again. And hopefully you plan another get together before the end if the year.

Thanks Billy

We actually need a 'take charge type SFSC member' from the west coast to plan and announce the meetings for SFSC (west coast branch) .Any volunteers please contact me or Chris Solomoni(snookhunter) to discuss and plan. If planned far in advance we could coordinate to attend to coincide with some west coast sharking.

Dave (topwaterdm) to answer your question what we covered was mostly the need to prepare for changes in our sport brought about by the lovely people of FWC

SFSC member participation in these projects is important so please everyone ,,,,GET INVOLVED AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE. .

1) We discussed strategy and it was determined we will strike up the Shorebound Anglers Alliance to begin an awareness campaign as to our plight

2)Find a lawyer/fisherman that will take up our cause

3)Possibly start a state wide petition to assure beach access in ALL of Florida to land-based FISHERMAN
