Hello All Shark Fishermen! My Name is Jonathan, I Lived in South Beach since1981, and I remember The Old South Beach Pier, The Boardwalk; etc. ( Man Those were the times!) I met Rene de Dios in 1982, and was instantly his friend. His passion and chrisma flooded onto me; and at the age of 10yrs old; I looked up to this man! I would sneek out of my mom & dad's Hotel room ( Sea Breeze Hotel on Collins Ave & 15 st) in the middle of the night on a Friday night with my Brother Anthony, just to go to South Point to see if Rene was out Shark Fishing. I would stay up all night listening to Club members talk old war Stories! I would dream of one day Hanging out with the Big Boys Shark Fishing! Even After I was in Elementary School,Middle School, ( And High School ); which was in Kendell, I Would get on 2 buses and 1 Train to get to South Beach; just to see if Rene and thoose guys were Shark Fishing! Even After Graudating (1994); and moving to South Beach, ( Washington Ave & 2 nd st) I would go to World Famous South Point Park to see guys Shark Fish ! (Man thoose Were The Times!)

Welcome JP. Always good to hear old school stories. You are lucky you got to experience the South Beach Pier and Boardwalk. I was too young then. Do you still Shark Fish? There are many of us here that fish Miami, The Keys, Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. A lot of good guys on here. Good luck and hope you put up some reports.
