What's your favorite big bait ?

1) A 30-90 lb Tarpon ( with a tarpon stamp of course )
2) A fresh ray
3) A fresh Cuda
4) A fresh bonita or AJ

If i am fishing a new Area I llike to use whatever is being caught if the jacks are thick I will use a big fresh jack if bonita and cuda are present then that is the targeted bait. Fresh baits are the way to go but not always available , so if i have to i will soak a frozen bait until i catch a fresh bait then swap them out alot of work but always haveing a wet hook increases your odds 100%

Best of luck to all

Im not sure if i have a reel big enough to put out a 90lb tarpon, but I agree 100% about localized baits, especially on the west coast, what ever fish I see alot of will be on my best rod no doubt!

i love reading this post....must have read it 50 times! it gets me so pumped to go and put out a massive bait. One of the best feelings ive ever had shark fishing so far was when Snookhunter's whole blacktip was put out for bait last year without its head and got picked up on a slow steady run. Landed a big bull, not a monster, but when baits like that get picked up and the reel keeps going as you run over to it, its most likely a GIANT!!!!!!!!

my favorite big bait is a tarpon obviously

my most reasonable and productive big bait is big cudas

Chris i know you are going hard this year with bonitas, but im gonna be the guy stuck with reeling in a 30-60lb bait at the end of the night if it doesnt get hit, but its all gonna be worth it if one GIANT sees the delicious baits that im stocking my freezer with!

I like fresh YFT and BFT... skins, heads and carcass. 2nd LBSF would be Rays, Offshore 2nd would be Bluefish

Stingray and amberjack heads! King heads with about 4-6" of meat behind it close behind. I like to run some of each every time.
