I would appreciate some help from fellow shark fisherman familiar with the Anna Maria or Sarasota area. I am driving down from Minnesota to Anna Maria Island (AMI) area next week (mid-august, 2014) with a few others. I was down to AMI (end of June), but nothing after 6 nights on Bean Point and 1 night off the pier. Some young & knowledgeable sharkers our last night mentioned the Sandbar on the gulf side. We typically kayak out a ½ Bonita 100 – 200 yards. We have caught an 8’ bull and a few 7’ sand sharks off Sanibel on previous trips, but no sharks off AMI in last 2 years with 4 trips. Any advice or tips, different locations on AMI or locations near Sarasota? We leave in 4 days for the next shark journey. Feel free to PM me with advice. Thanks.
