Caught this pup today on light tackle, trying to catch bait. Not sure what it is , is it a spinner ?

Kinda looks like a cross between a blacktip and an Atlantic sharp nose , which my local beach (gandy bridge) is infested with both. Makes me wonder if there are any hybrids out there

Looks like a skinny spinner to me but I'm not the best identifier. How's the shark fishing in the Gandy area? I have flats fished a few times there and catch bait at Courtney Campbell.

Mostly small blacktips at gandy, but I heard that bulls and even hammers have been caught there before

head not shaped right for a spinner, does it have the interdorsal ridge, if so sandbar, if not blacktip, no pale spots like a sharpnose.

its hard to tell because sandbars have an interdoral ridge and sharpnoses have white spots all over them and its head and eyes look weird for a blacktip or spinner. Its is most likely a blacktip though

The snout is long and is most likely a blacktip shark.

Just an average fisherman.

Sadly, there are no shark hybrids known of today.

Just an average fisherman.

a spinners anal fin is always black tipped, a spinners eye and gill slits are above the color break. if it has no inter-dorsal ridge its definitely a blacktip, and its spent some time in the bay.

I'd say it's a blacktip, the real way to tell is if the anal fins have black tips, if they do it's a spinner, if they don't its a blacktip. Unfortunately, there isn't much of a clear view of the anal fins from they picture.
