Soaking a Ray

O.k. everyone, I am new to this stuff, what is ment by soaking a Ray over night. I was told the fresher the better, but sometimes giging a ray and having time to fish that night is hard, having an extra day is a plus. Thanks, Randy.

Everyone is talking about leaving it out all night after dropping the Ray and hoping for a bite. You can feel more confident that the Ray will be in the hook the whole night since it is so durable compared to say a Bonita which would usually be torn apart by crabs in 2-3 hours which would mean you would probably have to check it a couple of times during the night and re-running a fresh bait.
