I am from TX, but have a couple Florida shark fishing trips coming up. I want to make sure that I am not breaking any laws, so I am curious which baits cannot be used on the Florida coast. I appreciate your help.

No spotted eagle rays, tarpon without a $50 tag, undersized fish, (snook and grouper-season closed due to freeze killing them all), jewfish, manatee, porpoise, most of these are obvious lol

Just an average fisherman.

grouper season is open now in state waters i think. but he listed all the baits you cant use. and if you do use dont mention it to any one. tarpon is the best bait but it is 50 dollars a bait.

HAHA...i guessed the obvious. In TX we are not alowed to use shark, spanish mackeral, and even gamefish carcasses such as redfish. They are very strict about what we can use down here.

...and $50 for a single bait would be tough to swallow. I think I will pass on the tarpon.

Good point. If I lived in FL, I would definately get a tag. I am going to have to prove to myself that I can catch a tarpon before dropping the coin on it.
