I use circles. Usually a single hook in the nub of the tail on Southerns. On Cownose, I cut the wings and stick it in the shoulder where the skin is very tough. It allows great hook exposure. Very important to let them eat though.

For bigger Southerns or huge Cownose. Double J's in the back.

Yea I do but 95% of the time my BIG ray baits soak and soak and soak with out ever turning a click  However the big baits like Tuna heads, wahoo heads usually get the big old slug sand Tigers. Caught some good Sand bars using pretty good size whole skate. One of these days my 20lb whole ray will get hit from the sand in MD. We dont have the best of odds on hooking a 10+ foot fish from the MD sand.... but in the ocean theres always that chance a true MONSTER will show up in the surf zone on any beach! ya know! Beaching a massive MD shark like Tiger, Hammer or a 10 foot plus Dusky is a goal of mine, so I will continue to drop that big old 20lb ray every chance I get.

SEE YA on the MD sand! 8-)

I never heard that but that's when I need to pull out the old 14/0...yea there was some guy always up on that pier and he was the father of one of the employes.... he always used saltist spinning reels and monofilament instead of wire... he was real mean until you got on his good side...but I think now that the pier is leveled it will really make things more spaced out because all the hardcore guys will be fishing the beaches...but there's definatly some monster sharks in OC there just few and far between

Nice pictures C.J.....I told you i should have been a foot model. ;)

I know people say use 2 hooks....But I have done very well with 1 hook like in the picture. The only time I will run 2 is on a big jack.
