Great places for sharkin

I know everyone has their favorite places and some do not like to share "Their Spots" as I learned while reading through Mark's thread after his monster hammer but Maybe we could all talk about some great geographic locations (beaches/cities, etc).

I am a new sharker and I am in the process of assembling a cart for the beach (My beach assault vehicle). For the past six months I have been fishing pompano beach on the southeast coast. I have had a few hits, one screamer that busted me off quickly and a few nurse sharks. The beach is a convenient spot but I want to venture else where. Where are some good spots? Do I have to go to the panhandle for a big tiger and the keys for a big hammer? I know west palm and riviera beach are hot spots due to the proximity to the gulf stream.

Where do you all go and what do you get when you're there?

I would stick to west palm area and the keys for you. Tigers and hammers can be caught in west palm, and your pier fishing for regular fishing (bait!) is red hot on lakeworth.

Excellent. I will check out the Lake Worth Pier and start trying WPB. I see you are located on the west coast. Any thoughts on Naples, Venice, and Sanibel?

I hear about Boca Grande all the time. Can that area be fished from the shore?

I am north of all those locations but I have fished the Venice area a handful of times and it is usually decent down there. There is a pier called "Sharkys" and they produce pretty often. As for boca grande you can fish the boca grande pass (but need a state parks pass for night fishing) or the beaches that lead up to it (7th st, 1st st to name a few) without issues. The boca locals are usually the nicest people around, just make sure to clean up and watch for swimmers/boats during the day :D

Awesome, Thanks for the information.

I actually took a walk out on Sharky's last October with my gramps. He lives out that way and talked about sharks being caught out there. I started shark fishing in Nov. and never put 2 and 2 together.

Anyone ever heard anything about fishing at Marco Island?
