I've been shark fishing for about a year and a half and only had one run on frozen bait and a run everytime on fresh bait but it's hard to always get fresh bait why are they not hitting frozen I see reports on the internet with people getting them on frozen
i dont know about everybody else on here but i only use frozen bait. my biggest is a 9'ft tiger on a frozen AJ head. just keep at it if the sharks are there they will find it.
I have used both frozen and fresh bait. I have never had good runs on frozen and was told by a friend of mine (a bio for fish and game) that sharks can smell the freezer odors on a frozen bait (kind of like the smell of freezer burn) if it is not air sealed before freezing. I don't know how true this is but it makes sense to me. Now if I only have frozen I will use it to catch bait then do my shark fishing.
Ansel, you also haven't paid for shark bait in 20 years. Lol!
But you have been known to keep a ray or two in the freezer, of which I'm thankful.
