Bow fishing for rays

I'm going out for the first time this Monday now fishing for big cownose and southern rays has anyone tried this before??

it does sound like a blast, keep me posted. I would like to do it with you all this year when I come down.

is it legal everywhere or just certain bays? whats the rules on it

Yeah you can't do it where there is a lot of people and no piers

it will probably be harder on a kayak since you are closer to the water when ive gone with dan its straight down from the bow of his boat to rays in a couple feet of water and they are near the top

I use a canoe, Its a blast! You'll love it. Same rules as spearfishing apply. Those big cownose are bruisers though! They go wild when stuck. Crazy how fast they are! You'll be surprised. Have at em! :D

I got a canoe stored on Sanibel. Have any of you all done this on the Sanibel side of blind pass where the bar runs way out. I know when walking around out there I saw some rays.

Or has anybody bow fished Sani captiva???? legal???

yes literally i was with him when we were gigging and i speared a big one and pulled off the spear and took off tripping him and giving him a big bruise haha luckily he had the gaff in his hand and gaffed it just in time
