Team Deadweight From Australia
Hey guys, we’ve been checking out your site for years now and dutifully taking in the wealth of information here, so we thought we’d finally give back some content of our own!

6ft Bull shark from the Gold Coast Broadwater
We’re a team from Queensland, Australia and have been shark fishing for just over three years now and mostly fish the bay-like area known as the Gold Coast Broadwater. Our biggest shark is an 8’ bull estimated at around 130kg, which is also the largest bull shark that we’ve heard of landed in our local area.

Like most conservation-minded anglers we practice catch and release on all sharks we catch, as well as tagging all eligible species for the NSW Department of Fisheries. A few weeks ago we also managed to take a prize in the inaugural Big Shark Shootout (a local catch and release shark fishing competition) with a 147cm bull shark.

Although winter is approaching us here in Australia and our shark season is steadily coming to an end, we hope to get a few reports up on this site in the future.
Cheers!

Thank you very much for posting ,we are grateful when someone from as far away as Australia post on our site. As an avid shark fishermen I have searched for years to find shark fishing sites from Australia,South Africa and New Zealand where the shark fishing history has been a source of inspiration for me since the 1970's when I was a young apprentice and a shark fishing Nerd hungry for inspiration always and seeking more information reading everything that I could find on the sport from such exotic far away places. Australia remains on my bucket list of places to hunt sharks because the dream of tangling with a 3000 lb Great White has not died in me and I am now 53 years old .I want to convey a message of gratefulness for your participation on our site because to me Australia is a place where the largest sharks in the world inhabit and I encourage you to travel far and wide if in your dreams are huge sharks the country where you live is at the pinnacle of the sport.Thank you --we look forward to seeing your group catch monster sharks and we remain hopeful that the shark fever will drive you to seek the GIANTS and that WHEN YOU FIND THEM you would share your adventures with us .
Sincerely Will Fundora
