My name is Art aka Hoogan
I did a search and found the South Florida Fishing Club -
I grew up in South Beach Pier, have known Willy for many years and if it wasn't for Willi, Loui and RENE and ALL the others I would not have the passion for fishing that runs thru my veins.
I fish Dry Tortugas and Sebastian.
I was fortunate enough to fish BAHIA HONDA BRIDGE with RENE and watch 80 feet up on the bridge when many T-heads approached our baits swinging the hammers from side to side before engulping our baits.
I would like to relate in this forum some old stories of:
the few battles that I won
the many that I lost
my encounter with Big Moe
and my recollection of amazing moments with RENE and many other South Beach Pier fishermen that became my mentors.

Welcome Home Art ,,,,we missed you but now that you're here we have alot of time to catch up and do some awesome fishing. The more old timers we get in the forum recounting the old battles with giant sharks the more the viewing public can understand why we feel so stongly about our sport.Art scan some of them pics and post them up when you have a chance. Thanks again for your kind words, looking forward to your contributions to this board.

Art,

I will look forward to your posts. The guy I learned the most about fishing from was an old guy who had been around. I think too much focus falls on techy gear stuff and too little time is spent listening. Spending money and shopping for gear is fun but it takes time to see and hear what other guys have learned. It usually ends up being a better investment though so I do hope you will take time to share some of what you did and how you did it here.

Chris
