Hello all, so this is my first post on the forum. I thought I would tell everyone a little bit about myself and also give a bit of a fishing report. My name is Andrew, I'm 23, been doing serious fishing my whole life but just recently started with the sharks. I fish with my room mate Shawn and we do most of our shark fishing around the key biscayne/ bear cut area. I put a couple pictures in this post to give everyone a report but also I feel the need to establish a little street cred with all the big dogs in here. So the bull shark was a couple nights ago at bear cut (the water between key biscayne and virginia key). I was fishing for bait near the bridge lights and caught a 24inch lady fish on Gulp and a jighead. We immediately cut it in half and put it on Shawn's Penn Spinfisher 10500 on an Ugly Stick rod. The fresh ladyfish was out there maybe 20 minutes before line started peeling out. With the drag almost locked down (for fear of it going into the bridge) the shark still managed to take about 200 yards out. For those unfamiliar with Bear Cut, catching a big shark there is like threading a needle with your eyes closed (especially on a spinning rig). There is the bridge to the left and the RSMS dock with a offshore research vessel on it about 100 yards to the right. Anyways, after about 45 min we landed it and we were pumped. The weather took a turn for the worse and we made it home by midnight (which was fine by us).
I also put in some pictures of a couple lemon sharks we got a couple weeks ago off the beach side of key biscayne. Got those with the penn senator 12/0 soaking bait about 150 yards out.
The bait we typically use are Mahi heads (thanks to our offshore fishing friends) and the occasional jack or barracuda we catch on our own (the barracuda in the picture is a section of a 5 foot offshore barracuda we were able to get a hold of). I keep reading rays are good but I am not sure how to target them? Any advice on that?
Well anyways if there is anyone down here in South Florida/ Miami that would like to shark fish let me know. Im still trying to join the 8+ foot club and have my mind set on a big hammer and ultimately a tiger.
Tace care,
Andrew

Thanks a lot everyone. Slasherx4, it looks like that hammer in your picture is at RSMS right outside wet lab? When you fish there do you drop your bait on the far side of the research dock (not between the dock and the bridge)? The last couple times I fished there I dropped bait by the bridge and kept getting nurse sharks.
