Hey guys my name is Matt, I'm 20 and been fishing for a good while but just recently started catching bigger sharks (6ft+) nothing huge though. Would love to meet some people and have some fishing buddies. No kayak unfortunately but just looking for a good time and people who have patience for shark fishing :P
Hope to learn lots on this site and the forums though I already have before I even joined! :D

That'd be awesome! Pretty new to the area and fishing from shore in general but I've been doing a little at Sand Key and some just in the Clearwater harbor and pulled up a couple bulls both over 6ft. I'd like to actually try the surf somewhere if you've got any info or want to go.

Ok I'd definitely be up for going if it works around my work schedule. I don't have a freezer where I can store baits from previous days unfortunately, but if we go at night Sand Key has been swarming with lady fish on green backs so I'm sure we could grab a few of those. I had 2 nice hits on live lady fish last night but didn't take the hook. :/

BTW I have a Penn 6/0 I still need to spool up and a Fin-Nor Offshore 9500 which I'm loving. So I'm not trying to catch like 15 footers haha. I'd just really like to land something around 8-9 and see what the Fin-Nor can handle. It does 6-7 footers like nothing lol.

Just the docks so far without any shark luck. Just trout, cats, and ladyfish on the small poles. Current was reallyyy strong last night so I packed up and went to the harbor and got a small shovel nosed. I've heard of people pulling in large sharks from the docks but I think a kayak or boat is necessary to actually get the baits out.

Thanks William! :D

If u want to target the larger sharks you deff have to be able to get ur baits into the deeper water in the middle if the passes and off the beaches. Have there been any mackeral over there

Haven't caught any myself. People have reported catching some in the harbor last week. Not sure how many people target them from there either though. What days/times are you thinking about going?

Ok well I'll message you my # and you can text me too. Don't always have access to the computer and my "smartphone" is a little aged.
I'd like to have some small to medium stingrays for bait. Had a small butterfly ray on tonight and had a nice run take it across the channel and drop it. Reeled it back in and saw teeth marks of probably a 5 footer.
