I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Matt, and I live in and fish the upper TX coast. I was fortunate enough to fish the east coast of Florida last May and landed a 8' and a 9'2" hammer, and then the panhandle a couple months back where I landed a 6'6" bull.

I am planning another FL panhandle trip this May, so I am doing all the research I can to make sure it is a successful trip. Maybe someday I can meet up with a few of you on the sand.

I already planned on it. I spent about 5 hours last night just reading many of the older posts and reports on here, so I feel like I already know some of you guys...haha. Thanks for the welcome.

I will post some pics when I get home from work. I just recently decided that I want to start targetting bigger fish, so that is the goal for this year. I missed a couple big fish this past year, and already know what I did wrong...I wont be making the same mistake again next time. Mid march the sandbars will start coming through so I am ready to get back on the sand. Water temp is in the low-mid 50's here, so there isnt much of anything on the beach side right now.

Thanks Chris...same to you.

That sandbar measured 6'8" but was by far the heaviest one we got last year. And yes, than small pic is the hammer. It was my luck that we used a friends camera and the picture did not come out right. If you look close you can see how long the tail is, and his head is still under the water in that pic.
