New guy from new jersey

Hey guys, my names Chris I'm 16. I fish daily saltwater in nj for stripers and blues I have a place down in Marco island which I fish from shore every night for sharks. I fish regularly down in Florida as well. I'm using an old Heavy duty Penn rod which is very reliable combined with a daiwa sea gate 40 with 80lb braid and 270lb cable with a 16/0 circle hook. I don't have a kayak so I wade into knee to waist deep water and cast my line out. Already landed a 5 1/2 foot lemon on a lady fish as well as smaller sharks on blue runners and pin fish. I'm eager to continue sparking throughout my life, any tips would be amazing or techniques for fishing from the surf. Thanks guys!!
