New from West Virginia
Hi everyone, my name's Joel, and I'm 26 years old from martinsburg, WV. I have fished my whole life, yet have been seriously sharking for about a year now. Finally got my first shark last July, a 7'5 dusky on the outer banks. I'm trying to plan a two week trip to Pensacola in June, and maybe fish a couple nights in the Venice area while on spring break in mid-March.

Welcome Aboard Joel!!We look forward to your reports and participation on the site.Nice Dusky. We don't see too many Dusky's on the east coast any more so it's treat to see one from North Carolina .The Outer Banks of North Carolina is great place to shark fish .An old friend of mine used to vacation whole summers there back in the 80's and they used to shark fish Jennett's pier and hook big hammers ,dusky's,blacktips and lemon sharks. In your picture there is a pier in the background ,,,what pier is that?

that pier is Avon...unfortunately Jeanette's was closed because of hurricane damage, but they are re-building it, it's going to be concrete now, should be done by next summer, hopefully. Lots of NC state records were caught off that pier back in the 60's & 70's
