Hi everyone . My name is Larry . Live in NE Georgia , 6 hrs. from nearest salt water . Grew up fishing the bay and surf , of Long Island N.Y. . That was over 70 years ago , and I still can't wait for the water to warm , and the fish to arrive . I do my shark fishing along the Fla. panhandle , but plan to give Jekyl Island , here in Ga. , a shot or two this year . Love the comments and pic's . :D :D

Hi Larry. You should try to make it down to the Florida Keys some time. It is beautiful & the fishing is fantastic. It is truly a fisherman's paradise. Welcome to the forum! :D

You may want to check out the regulations for Georgia beaches - im fairly certain that Jekyl may have restrictions on shark fishing. There is a guy on here called Railroader (Rob) that will hopefully see this and chime in - hes got the scoop on Georgia beaches.

I called the Ga. DNR , coastal division . They said there was no problem , with shark fishing from the beach , at Jekyl island . Thanks for bringing the question up . Definately better safe , than sorry . :D :D
