Hello, I am happy to have found this site. Here are my answers to the following;

Tell us:
Basic info -
How old are you? 30s
Are you married? Yes.
Have kids? Yes, 2 under 4 yrs old.

Fishing info-
#1 How did you hear about us? Found the page while searching for info.

#2 How long have you been shark fishing? Just started but grew up fishing in South Florida prior to moving north for college and work. Moved back from NYC when my daughter was born.

#3 Where do you fish mostly? Close to home: Coral Springs/Pompano Beach/Fort Lauderdale. A few trips a year: St. Augustine/Crescent Beach.

#4 Do you fish land and boat and if so where? Weekly in backyard for bass on lake in Coral Springs and just started saltwater again with trips to Anglin's and Pompano Beach Pier. Occasionally on boats with friends offshore and flats.

#5 Do you fish the South Florida and the Keys any? Yes.

#6 Would you like to get together with us and learn more? Yes.

#7 Are you interested in becoming a shark club member? Yes.

Bottomline, I have decided to begin shark fishing off the pier or beach. No kayak at the moment but I do have a 9/0, 4/0, 3/0, jigmasters and surfmasters. Need help with line/tackle/bait selections but have figured out a few things from reading. I am happy to buy bait, ice, drinks etc... if anyone would like me to join in fishing from a beach/pier and help me get started.

Welcome to the club.

I live in Coconut Creek and fish pompano a lot. It's not the greatest place but it's super close and some sharks come by there. My best luck has been south of the inlet, off 16th street. Outgoing tide, close to or just after dusk. The small ones also roam there messing with the bait overnight.

You can spool up the 4/0 with 40 or 50 LB mono and use it for small sharks around that area. There are some rocks so I do not recommend braid (unless you want to set up a spinning rod).
The 9/0 can be spooled up with 80 LB mono and you can go for some larger sharks. (Members landed a 9ft bull on a 4/0 with 50 LB and a 10 ft hammer on a 9/0 with 80 LB)

T & R Tackle is just west of A1A on commercial and they can help you with line, repairs, etc (if needed)
Atlantic Bait and Tackle typically has some shark bait if you are in a pinch.

I can set you up with some rigs if you want. $4 for a small rig and $6 for a big rig.

Hit me up with any questions you have. I'll tell ya what I know (which is not much compared to the veterans here) or I can help you get the answer.

Welcome aboard. I fish that area a lot I have hooked some big sharks on the beach and also commercial pier. It's a very rocky area to fish it has a lot of reefs but its doable. Send me a pm some time maybe we could hit the sand and Gucci also.

Thank you, exactly what I was looking for. I'll check out T&R and Atlantic Bait is near my office. I will talk with you about the rigs and a few other things. Message sent.
