William, i would like to make you a suggestion on how to eliminate all these spam.
I looked over on this website's registration process, and the reason why you getting so much spam is because your "Confirmation of registration" is completely inefficient. Technically speaking it was proven many many times, that this type of cod generator can be bypass easily by bots. In other words, whatever "user spam" you'll gonna see registered was actually NOT created manually, there were created by a software programed to generate users like these, with the hole purpose to advertise all thous things that you mention in your post.
So, the most efficient way to cut 99% of these spammer bots, is to create Questions And Answers instead of letting the "Confirmation of registration" cod generator to do the job.
If you do that William, you'll cut 99% of your time to fish for a true user from a pool of software generated spam users.
To give you an example please take a look at this and look in the "Confirmation of registration" area. You'll see a fishing question there where the answer is self-explanatory, if a fisherman wants to sign up . That's proven to cut 99% of these spammers, they software CAN NOT BYPASS THAT - ONLY MANUALLY, which they won't waste time, since they don't even visit the website in the first place, just they software does.
To create thous questions, log into your "Administration Control Panel" and look for "Spambot countermeasures" which is usually listed under your "Board configuration". After you clicked "Spambot countermeasures", take a look if you have installed the "Q&A" Plug-in. If you do, select that, click "Configure" and add there whatever questions you may think, a fishermen would know. If you don't have that plug-in installed, stick with your way, by sending that email, its just a pain for every new user to pay attention to that, since many click "Register" in hopes to get registered.

Just for info.

There is 0 YES i said 0 spam and or junk/trash making it into any posts on this site. "as far as i can tell"

Yes plenty of spam makes it to me and or will and is quickly purged before it ever can get posted.
IF this suggestion your talking about will help with my work, Great! But as i said it is a moot point since all spam is interdicted before it can make it to post.

BTW i believe he already has those settings done that way, "guessing".
