Love the site, tons of knowledge. I live in Orlando area (Apopka/Maitland) and have just recently got into surf fishing and shark fishing for that matter. Caught my first small blacktip this past Sat out in CNS New Smyrna side.

Had something quite a bit bigger, and was spooling me, got too excited, didn't tighten down my drag all the way. Grabbed the spool on my Penn Fierce 6000 to stop the fish, and ended up breaking my 50# braid. Need more patience next time, lesson learned!
GF reeled this in, caught on some frozen squid.
