Hey all my name is Jimmy and have been a long time reader of this site. I have been going to Anna Maria Island my entire life and have been infatuated with sharks since before I could remember. Living in Illinois, I only come to Florida once a year, usually in August. With this brief window of opportunity to fish, it has taken me years to learn how to shark fish from the beach. I started in middle school with lots of broken leaders, being spooled, and even rookie mistakes of tightening down the drag too tight only to have the line suddenly pop off. Now, after about six years, I feel like I finally am learning how to land these magnificant creates from the beach. All of the info that I have been refining for all these years has come from this website. With that said, I know there is much left for me to learn and am hoping to potentially meet up with some of you who live in the Tampa Bay region this August for some shark fishing. I met Nick (Zasik) by sheer luck last year at a hardware store and we spent a night fishing together on Anna Maria. If any of you would like to meet up shoot me a PM and we can make plans because with the small amount of time I spend in Florida, I fish every night for that one week and look forward to it annually. Glad to finally be apart of this extremely helpful site.
Hi, Jimmy. Welcome to the site. I hope you will be able to meet up with some of the wonderful members of this site to shark fish. I am originally from southeastern Illinois, but haven't lived there in many years. There are lots of good people there!
