Hi, I'm Chris and I'm 38 y.o.. I live in Southeast Ohio, Athens. I have fished the surf all up and down the OBX since I was a kid. Just on summer vacations though. I fish and camp like crazy here, big cats have been my thing here for a few years now. Also, I hunt and raise animals here. I have fished for sharks a couple places on the OBX and I have become absolutely obsessed with LBSF. Just ask my wife, I am remarried to a real sweet lady who does not get into fishing but totally understands my passion for it. I am free to roam and camp seeking fishing adventures! We do not have any kids.
I have spent a lot of energy and dough getting geared up this past year. I think I really got serious after a trip to Hawaii in October. We camped on the beach some and I fished every day. I just took a humiliating beating on numerous occasions being totally under geared. So now I have spent a ton of time on ebay and own a couple 9/0s, a 14/0, some heavy casting gear and a bunch of gear and tools none of my buddies have seen before.
I am here to learn the ropes and to find like minded guys who are willing to share some wisdom with a new guy. I plan on doing a trip or two to Fla. this summer and I have learned that this is not a good solo event for the novice. Funny to find myself in this role. I work with troubled teens for a living and I am usually showing them the ropes from the ground up when it comes to fishing. I guess humility and knowing when you need a hand is a good thing.
Anyway, I have enjoyed the site a lot already just browsing. There is clearly a wealth of info. here and I am appreciating it. The older photos are really great too, some of you guys have had some great times and great opportunities. I am glad so much of it was preserved. I look forward to learning here and hopefully meeting up with some of you guys on the sand.

Welcome, where do u fish?
I definitely will let you all know when I am coming to Fla.. Actually I will be looking to line up a trip or two in advance for mid to late summer or fall. There is a good chance I will be making the trip on my own so I will need folks to crew with. I have fished mostly OBX locations thus far but I am looking to broaden my horizons this year!

For those that don't know OBX stands for Outer Banks and that's where most of North Carolina's prime land- based fishing takes place .Miles of beach to fish on and more fishing piers then you could fish in one weekend.Great place with tons of shark fishing history.I would love to travel to the outer banks in the shark club RV this summer for a week long trip.Anybody that interested in making that trip a reality let me know.We can split the cost of gas among those joining us.
