I am glad i have found another forum about this never ending passion i have for Surf Fishing!
I am Matt and located in Lake Ciy, FL. During my college years in Kansas i spent all spring summer and fall going after monster cats (30-120lbs), floating bream, crappie and shad -'Pogies'-. Used the same 10ft set ups with 80# braid as we do in FL to fish for big game off the beach. Last year i went with the wife to the beach (ive been in FL for 21years) and figured i would fish. Had my 8ft pole filled with 20# mono and caught this addiction to shark fishing with a 2lb BlackTip Pup. Didnt realize you could hook into a Shark untill i really thought about it. Now they are what i target.
I do live in the middle of nowhere and have no one to fish with. IF you live in the area, i could use a fishing buddy. My wife isnt into fishing and rarely eats what i catch. We are expecting our first child next April.
