from the land of ice and snow
Im from Minnesota, got a degree in Fisheries at the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point, and am currently working in nothing related in NW North Dakota.... I've fished very hard for many freshwater species with fly and conventional tackle in open water and also lots of ice fishing, but i particularly pursue largemouth and smallmouth bass and muskies when in MN and WI...
I got a taste of saltwater flats and shark fishing when me and some friends got together and went to Florida on spring break in college and were able to borrow my friends flats boat for a couple days in the Keys... The year after that we decided we had to get back down there and try fishing the keys again.... We carpooled down with 12 college students, and 6 canoes (all we had available) and fished shark and many other species from canoe and shore. Its turned into an annual trip and this upcoming spring will be my 7th year now... We primarily fish out of canoes and some kayaks, but also enjoy bridge fishing... This site seems very informative and a good way to learn about chasing big sharks... the biggest we've landed to date (out of canoes) are 9-10' bull sharks, and hammerheads up to 11'.
I'll post some links with highlights of some of our fishing and shark fishing experiences... hope you enjoy, and I'm excited to learn more about chasing big sharks here!!
