A little late e polk

Hello out there my name is Earnie Polk And I am from Milton FL. I have been fishing the beach pier at navare since i was 5 years old. I am 39 and have been shark fishing hard since 1986. I have never quit and have fished hard every year. Allways been steady. When I started sharkin the long liners had just finished up. Everyone on the pier told me i was chaseing a ghost. I pressed on and listened to a few guys that urged me on. I rember fishing hard one year and i got 3 runs and caught 1 shark. It really sucked. Now the long liners have limits and it shows. Some of ya new comers to the sport probaly dont realize how lucky ya are. The Fishing is better than it has been since the 70's. All of my tecniques come from local Navare shark fishermen like Roddie Pate and Bill Olson. My Dad and 3 uncles shark fished at navare pier also. They had a 12/0 that they shared and caught some good sharks. I looked at that reel and rod my entire childhood and always said i was gona put it back to use. Now we fish with a 12/0 a 14/0 and 3 16/0's. We consists of Sean Watson Joey Polk Monica Polk (My Wife). and several friends that fish off and on. I try to produce my own bait. I fish hard and catch bait of all kinds. My favorite fishing is landbased shark fishing and will always take priority over all of my fishing even if i some day have a big boat. I have always been the bait runner, and kinda feel bad when i make some of the crew do it. I am more comfortable doing it my self than watching my friend do it. Every one else realy likes it that way too. I thought I was a dieing breed untill Will came along and found me and my 11'2" mako on the pensacolla fishing forum.
