IGFA says NO to power pro braid at 100lb test
I sent in a 25ft piece of power pro (yellow) originally rated at 100lb test to the IGFA to get it tested. I was hoping it would test out low enough to stay under the 130lb mark, but it barely missed.
They tested it at 5 different spots.

Anyone else ever send in braid to get it tested? I'm curious in what braid I can put on my reels and stay under the 130 mark.
I guessing you don't like the old standard for records Ande 130 TOURNAMENT line?I know the braid has a more direct feel of everthing the fish does but it's less forgiving also.

William,
I switched over to braid because of the diameter. I cant pack very much of 130lb mono on my 50w Tiagra. A quick 12ft Tiger can rip off 400 yards way too quick. I might test out that Diawas like Monoxide said. Sure is tough to take that 200lb power pro off...that stuff can stop a tug boat.

how much 200 lb do you have? and how much do you want for it?
I probably have about 200 yards of it on the reel before it goes to mono...but its worn. I never bought a spool, I just kept reloading at the tackle store every 2 or 3 weeks.
