Using a small live BT as bait?

Finding big fresh bait in the hunt for a large shark seems to always be a challenge. I've heard whispered from LBSFisherman over the years that using a shark as bait to catch bigger sharks is a good strategy. Can anyone speak to this? I'm interested in running out a small "LEGAL" BT as bait in an attempt to place a really good bait in front of a monster. Is using a live BT a good idea?

What kind of weight would you use to keep the BT from dragging line all over the place?

Big sharks have voracious appetites so a small legal shark for bait will sometimes produce that monster shark that wants a fresh bloody bait of any kind. Some folks are of the mind that sharks should not be used for bait but if its a legal catch there is no reason why a small blacktip or even a bonnethead cant be used to hook some very big sharks. Good luck.

If you try a live shrk from the beach, I think it would just drown. I dont have any personal luck with tippers for bait but I have heard some stories as well. It seems that if you use shark, you may not get as much action, but if you do get a bite, tha fish is probably a big fish.

I'm pretty inexperienced but I tried it. Hooked a bonnethead through the tail. Let it soak for a few hours. No action, but the bonnethead was still alive. I think I released it. We know sharks eat sharks. I think I used an 8 ounce weight.
