If you have'nt noticed yet this year is going to be a good one for catching big bull sharks in Florida. We would like to see someone get a 10 footer this year .It's very possible just get out there and make it happen, but be ready because the bigger they are the harder they fight. Here's a a view of 2010's big bulls so far.

A 10' bull is definitely a dream fish for me; I thought the 7 footers pull hard. It would be interesting to develop a strategy for one of these big boys, as cheesy as that sounds. To be honest, I wouldn't even know where to start. Maybe some others can chime in and help me out.

I believe bulls to be one of the most difficult sharks to hook and land. What can I do to land larger bulls; bigger baits, target the pupping areas(pregnant females), cross my fingers?

Anyone else find bulls picky? If so, how can we improve our bait presentation?

Should I shut-up and fish?

Huh, interesting Ty - your comment about Bulls being that picky. I've only caught Bulls in the high 6's just under 7' and they were pretty stubborn. But from what I've heard from people, I thought HHs were the picky critters of the group. Thoughts?

Great recent pix Will, I think you're onto something for this year. Good luck everyone in the BHC.

8-)

That last bull looks awful like a fat lemon. Those fins are almost the same size.

Ty I would try and target the passes or the inlets in the summer months at a time when they are pregnant.Bull sharks are known to frequent estuaries and have been found many miles up rivers.BIg baits is no problem and are preferred by bulls where we fish.Baits such as AJ heads ,big crevalles, rays and such.In the northern part of florida I don't have much info on where to direct you but I know that in the keys bridges March and April are prime big bull months.Up in Palm beach north to Sebastian June July and August are the best months.Ty you're a smart sharker and I know you will do the required research to target your monster bull and will make it happen like you did with the big Tiger.Hope that helps.

Great info guys, thank you.

Tom I agree, hammers are notoriously picky; might have something to do with their larger brain. I've just never seen a big bull, only small ones that ate fresh bait. It seems those small ones can really take a large bait, I might need to step it up. Well, I suppose those big bulls are big for a reason and with age comes experience. I got that tiger on a bonita the raccoons might have passed up. I would be very surprised to see a big bull or hammer eat that old bait. Yall agree? I do like using amberjack heads when I can get my hands on them, but my hookup ratio is really poor. Will please bring some bait up this year, we can rarely find jack cr and have to scout forever for the rays sometimes :)
