I haven't done much surf fishing in "tropical" waters and was wandering what you guys use ?
I fish a lot from the rocks and beaches in norway and we use a type of spoon lure i haven't seen in other parts of the world. Loved the Got-Cha plugs intrested in some other crank baits and perhaps top water lures.

Yeah checking them out right now aswell as the bomber.
It's just so sad how expensive they are where i live.. i pay about 25-30 dollar for 1 saltwater rapala. Trying to see if i can order a bunch online with some cheap shipping before the Pike season starts around here.
Going to try to bust the swedish all tackle record in soem secret spots..

Well that's to bad.. all though you dont really need that many.
I just like having a lot of lures of diffrent colors and sizes the water color around here changs a lot so you need a few diffrent colors to fish it properly.

RAPALA HUSKY JERK TOO ,
and RAT-L TRAPS 1-1/2ounce size ,they are the size of the palm of your hand, Sharks will hit them if they see it , if you can cast to a feeding Shark, killing bait on the surface or just under ,they'll hit it , no trick to the RAT-L-TRAP; just cast & wind they sink like a rock so start winding as soon as it touches down.
The HUSKY JERK suspends, sinks very slow ,you can do all kinds of retrieves ,let it sink to where you want ,then jerk it ,reel ,jerk it ,reel,
that works ,Snook knock hell out of them

That husky jerk sounds like my type of lure, don't really appreciate just cast and retrieve compared to lures that you can give your own movements too.
Will Definitely have to get one and try it out.

If this is your kind of thing why not try a buck tail jig..there is all kinds of ways you can give your own movements to it. You can make it be either a shrimp, or a bait fish so everything will hit it. You can either jig it, or you can try cranking and pausing, or if there is jacks in the area just reel it in real fast across the surface and you'll get to see the fish nail the lure at the surface, its quite a rush. I've caught all kinds of stuff on them, pompano, redfish, snook (mostly larger snook too) ladyfish, mackerel, small to midsize tarpon, trout, bluefish, jacks, gag groupers, snapper, and more..a few times i've seen small blacktips chasing them. The action in the water looks as lifelike as any lure I've seen and you can make them yourself for very cheap if you wish.

I've used HUSKY JERKS in every kind of water, FRESH SALT<LAKES ,Ponds, streams ,ocean,GULF
& IN every size they make from tiny 2" to 3" for TROUT in streams , to the biggest 3 hook models ,& in the GULF I used BLUE/CHROME/Orange Belly , Snook hammer them ; cast & fish them PARALLEL to the beach or like a 45 degree angle from shore ,
I used the tiny green back/chrome orange belly in streams for Trout & had big 20" Browns , 12" to 18" Brookies slam them , I missed a really big one in a stream in upstate New york , when I was slow retrieving it in a stretch with big boulders in the crick , he came out from behind one , nailed the "jerk" & I missed him.
Try the older "SHAD RAP" & the big "Countdown" & Magnum minnows, They are like the big HUSKY JERK...$7.29 & THAT is retail on the web site , you'll find them much cheaper,&now they make a"DOWN DEEP HUSKY JERK"two hook/big lip model dives to19feettrolling/12ft casting
that "glasspurple sunfire " color looks hot

http://www.rapala.com

Don't overlook that Rat-L-Trap, just because it is a cast/retrieve lure..... that tight wiggle & the BBs rattling inside work , I throw it right at feeding sharks, that are killing bait right across the surface & if they see/hear it they are on it.just get THE biggest ...1-1/2oz. size ,otherwise the jacks won't leave it alone
BOMBER ,MIRRO_LURE, I don't see why the BIG Chuggers & POPPERS won't work , they should
GOOD LUCK WITH IT ALL BROTHER!!
