i am going to skyway next weekend maybe and want to do some snapper fishing. i usually use a carolina style rig but was wondering if this would work at all. or should i keep with what i am using.
one thing i learned about snappers, they have great vision, 50lb test is a little heavy for snappers, try light line and small hooks, also a rigging i like to use is a single hook with 20lb mono then a swivel then an egg weight threaded onto your mainline to allow the fish to run when he hits it, not only for the snappers but most of the time when i snapper fish something else much bigger will grab the rigging too. hope this helps

thats called a chicken rig they use that to catch pinfish or lil bait fish also for deep water vermilian snappers. the best rig is what slasher 4 x said

slasher can i skip the swivel and tie a line to line? all i have for leader is 50lb mono, 30lb mono and 15lb mono. what size hook would you recommend? last time i went snapper fishing i used all of james stuff.
