I recently got a Penn Senator 10/0 on a star rod delux 121. I like the combo besides how heavy it is. The reason why i'm making this post is, I have a few questions. I know the 10/0 isn't manufactured anymore, is that because it isn't a good reel or it has bad faults? What is the lock down drag? Anyone know what the line capacity is on it? I hooked up to a sting ray this past weekend. It was a pretty good size one and stuck to the bottom like an anchor. I ended up popping the hook with it at about half drag. The rod and reel functioned great. Also does anyone know of a place to get parts for a 10/0? The bracket that bolds down the reel to the reel seat is missing. I hope some people could help me out with some of my questions. Also the guy I bought it from said theres around 200-250 yards of 100 pound mono and the rest is 130 dacron

My 10/0 with the HT 100 drag washers (newer penn style washers) tested out at 38 lbs of drag at full spool. (drag pressure increases when less line is one spool)

The 10/0 and 12/0 parts are interchangeable. The 12/0 is just wider than the 10/0 so the posts and spool are wider.

You can order parts here:
http://store.scottsbt.com/PennParts/Conventional.aspx

and on eBay.

The 10/0 is an excellent reel and many people like it for it's size since it is the smallest of the BIG game senators.

On eBay I have seen stainless steel reel clamps which are nice. I had already put on the stainless steel posts so I could preserve the stock chrome/brass posts.

Keep that reel in good shape and you can get a good couple bucks for it if you ever choose to upgrade.

Just the spool, stand and posts are different. Everything else in that reel is exactly like a 12/0. The rod clamp studs are 5/16" coarse thread.

The 10/0 is a very good reel. And as mentioned above the parts are the same as a 12/0. The only difference between the 10/0 and a 12/0 is the spool, much like the 14/0 and the 16/0. You can catch a lot of Big Fish with the 10/0 as long as your drag washers are up to date and not wasted. Good look!!!
