Penn Senator Vs Penn International

So I'm looking at getting either a Penn Senator 14/0 or a Penn International 80w for shark or the surf, but I was hoping to get some input or advice from some of you more experienced fellers on which I would be better going with. I have a 7'2 130# class custom rod that it will be going on. I know International is a "better quality" reel but how durable is it fishing from the harsh conditions of the surf, will it be okay with the sand and what not, will it hold up better than the 14/0? I like both but just don"t know what would be best for my situation? Thanks for the help guys!

A matter of price as far as I can see. I like my Penns, but they are heavy as hell. Do a great Job, easy to fix and look after. Less drag. I just figure, If I was going to be fishing every weekend etc. I would spend the money. If you are part time like me, the Penn 14/0 is good enough. I have caught bigger fish so far on my 12/0. - all a matter of luck there though.

Chances are, if you are going to get spooled on a 14/0 you are going to get spooled on one of the more modern reels. Once the fish gets to 15 feet, you don't stand much of a chance.

Thanks! I am a part time guy, but I like both reels, so I just wanted some opinions cause I'm torn between the two. I have a 12/0 on another 130 class rod, Just like to see what others use and why they like what they have. Thanks again!

I found someones penn international burried under sand for atleast a year with just the tip of the rod exposed. the thing was stuffed with sand! completely stuffed! cleaned it all out and it works like new. some might say they cant deal with sand but i think they are fine.
